Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Spiritual Direction:
is a guided relationship that helps a person become more aware of God's Presence and activity in their life-and respond to it more faithfully.
Psalm 32: 8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

What it is
-
A one-to-one (sometimes small-group) relationship
-
Between a person (the directee) and a trained spiritual director
-
Focused on listening to God together, not giving advice or solving problems
What happens in spiritual direction
-
You reflect on your prayer life, Scripture, experiences, emotions, struggles, and joys
-
The director asks gentle, discerning questions
-
Attention is given to where God seems present, absent, inviting, or challenging
-
The goal is discernment, not self-improvement alone
What it is not
-
❌ Not therapy or counseling
-
❌ Not life coaching
-
❌ Not Bible study or teaching
-
❌ Not confession (though it may include honesty and repentance)
Purpose
-
To grow in awareness of God
-
To deepen prayer and intimacy with Christ
-
To discern God’s will and movement in everyday life
-
To help you live more faithfully and freely
Biblical grounding
-
“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10)
-
Jesus walking with the disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35) is often seen as a model of spiritual direction.
